My Name is Bond - James Bond

This sentence, which millions of cinema-goers have heard again and again over generations from the mouths of various actors, could become a thing of the past as soon as the upcoming film is over and released on DVD and BluRay. Not because the Broccoli family of producers - that's also a green vegetable, but here it means Albert and his daughter Barbara - have decided that with the latest cast Daniel Craig, a series of over two dozen films (depending on whether you want to add the current 'No Time to Die' and 'Never Say Never') is coming to an end and Barbara wants to hang up the legacy of her father and Ian Fleming, the creator of the antiquated character, but because a contemporary interpretation of the novellas and short stories from the 1950s is being considered.

The list of references

  • Even Judi Dench as M said to Pierce Brosnan in this role: 'You are a dinosaur',

  • the Bond Girls got bigger and bigger roles, that they almost tried to cast them with actresses, which already failed once with the miscasting of George Lazenby and Telly Savallas as the villain and the casting of Diana Rigg known as Miss Emma Peel from Avengers (in Germany: mit Schirm, Charme und Melone)

  • the scripts became more absurd every year, even the evil German was replaced by Russians, tycoons and terrorists,

  • instead of sex for the climactic finale (also called the happy ending), there was even a final conversation.

It is obvious that the producers are looking for a way to distance themselves from the real threat to MI6 and the world with scenarios that are becoming more unrealistic, and to alienate the viewers. There are even rumours that the stunts are supposed to look so real that they can be done by the actors themselves without any objections from the insurance companies.

The development of the story

Whereas in the 1960s the focus was on fast-paced action, to which Ian Fleming himself still said that the plot only had to move so fast that the audience didn't notice the inconsistencies, this principle has now been turned around so that with all the logic of the story, you don't even notice that anything is happening. In the 1960s, there was smoking, whoring and wild shooting to attract the adult audience of the time; in the 1980s, technical gimmicks and slapstick interludes attracted the adolescent audience to the cinemas; and in the 2000s, it was the strong women who gave the big-screen game its appeal to lead the female audience to the cinemas. So it is only logical that infants and preschoolers are targeted next.

What are the producers up to?

LADE ...
Das mit der Pistole wird natürlich auch gestrichen ...

The first step is, of course, to question the character. Statistics say that there are more women than men in the world, so 007 will definitely be a woman. Other genders were discussed but discarded, because a pansexual hermaphrodite being who is ambivalently attracted to seven genders apparently cannot be adequately integrated into a spy plot. Hence the name must also give way. James has been the most common male call name in Britain over the past 100 years, analogously to Mary for females. But since the planned continued global marketing and the EU exit of the divided united kingdom cannot convey this message, Chinese, Indian and Arabic first names will be given priority, since these markets have higher rankings for investors and Mohammed is currently the most common boy's name in the UK. So we can look forward to a Fatima or Li. In the case of a main character of Chinese origin, however, the family name will be prefixed, so: Bond Li - sounds nice too.
